Ok, it is finally out there - today is my birthday.
I think some people have may have thought that by not acknowledging my birthday that I was actually trying to get more attention. Trust me, nothing could be further from the truth. I have always been extremely weird about my birthday. As a kid all I wanted was a 2' long sub, a butterscotch cake and for everyone (the family) to leave me alone for the day. That is absolutely it. I have never, ever wanted to be the center of attention nor have I ever wanted to celebrate something as trivial as the day I was born.
That said, I have decided to stop being as much of a curmudgeon about it. We had Rebecca's shower today and I felt bad that people had to whisper "Happy Birthday" because I didn't want to others to know that it was my birthday. I really have never waned to be the center of attention - it is nothing more than that. So.... I'll be less of a jackass in the future.

Ah yes, that is why your throws consistently sailed well over the ladder every time? And here I was thinking that you had been lifting weights.

You know, that's why everyone let you win at Ladder Golf. :)
