Spinning Around Utopia

I made my first trek around the Island today. Despite having spent a winter on the stairmaster in the basement, making the full loop really took the life out of me. That goes to show you that there are different kinds of "in shape". I did the 20+ miles in 80 minutes - not bad considering there was a 15 mph wind for much of the ride.
It also gave me a chance to drag out the gadgets. One of my favorites is the Garmin eTrex Vista CX handheld gps unit. This device fits right on my handlebars and tells me cool things like how fast I'm going (or not going), direction, elevation and lots more stuff. It also keeps a cool map of my trip.
Note that the "ring" around the island is actually my path. The question mark is my house - I didn't turn it on until I got to the river so I knew exactly how far it was around. Did you notice all of the boxes on the map? Those are geocaching locations. I'll have to discuss those in a future blog.

Nice work! There's a Grand Island in the middle of Nebraska that I stayed at on the way out West - my recommendation is dont go there. In line at Wendy's someone told me I must go visit the local restaurant which has 50 varieties of stuffed animals, including a giraffe and polar bear - a must see in Grand Island apparently.

Once again, kettle, a guy that had 6 or 7 computers in his family room cannot cast the first stone. I hear your jealousy and take it for what it is. Besides, I'm just getting warmed up. Check out the new temperature readings at the top of the page.
Just because..... "rectum? nearly killed'em"

You have gone way beyond just frightening me now mister. Next thing you are going to be bragging about your new Garmin eTrex VistaTitan AI anally implanted gps unit. The world is not ready for that blog post let me tell you. I did not see your stop at BK on the far end of the island represented. Let me guess, you did this eighty minutes of joy to be healthy. Also, next time you should stop for a moment and give Canada the finger for me.
Please allow me to define for all the readers out there:
Geogeeking is an outdoor treasure-hunting game in which the participants use a Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver or other navigational techniques to try to find what is left of their minds, dignity and life in an awkward attempt to have social interaction and try to relate to others. Also known as the geeks equivalent of a keg party.
