    This film was based on the true story of an American that was caught smuggling drugs out of early 1970's turkey. While the rotten rating was 95% positive, I wouldn't say that this was an exceptional film. It was "merely" very good. The feel and the story almost reminded me of Cuckoo's Nest. However, it just didn't have the memorable scenes that made Cuckoo so good. Well, I take that back - there are some extremely well-done but disturbing prison scenes. I wouldn't say that they were that disturbing but Rebecca might disagree.

    One other note - it was absolutely bizarre to see a downright skinny Randy Quaid in the film. All of the lead characters were fantastic.
