40 degrees never felt so good....
- Unfortunately Rebecca won't be able to make the upcoming trip to Florida with me. I'll be attending a conference at Disney and that means taking the Disney Magical Express to my hotel. That's right - I'll be the creepy guy sitting there by myself amidst all of the families. I'm thinking of greasing up my hair and wearing sunglasses on the bus. I think a "winnie the pooh" backpack would complete the ensemble.
(by the way - thank you to those of you that will be staying with Rebecca while I'm gone!)
- Speaking of creeps - how about Pat Robertson? The second worst guy on the planet is at it again. As you may remember, this gent said that God was punishing New Orleans for all of the awfulness that goes on there. Besides being absurd, this comment was just stupid. If you'll recall, the only place in New Orleans that was spared was the French Quarter (where all of the fun happens).
So yesterday there was a bad earthquake (as opposed to the good ones) in Haiti. What does Patty have to say about that? Well the Haitians made a deal with the devil, of course! I'm wondering what they got out of that deal. Maybe oppressive weather? Constant war? Poverty? These Haitians need some better negotiators.
I'd respect Robertson if he came out and said what he really meant - God hates poor black people.
- Things are going well with Rebecca. We had a bit of a scare last week but all is well. The doctor thought she'd do better on bed rest. We had an appointment on monday where the doctor said that the baby was coming along nicely and we have another one this week, just in case.
- Back to bigotry, for a moment. I love this clip of Christopher Hitchens on Sean Hannity's show two years ago. He had some classic quotes about Jerry Falwell:

You mean the same Pat Robertson who once said that feminism is a "socialist, anti-family political movement that encourages women to leave their husbands KILL their children practice witch craft and become lesbians"............. U can't make up anything more absurd than what these idiots actually say.

I thought you'd get a kick out of that one. For some reason Hitchens was in a particularly foul mood that day.

"And let's now hear from the Abramoff faction -- you should be ashamed of yourself." CLASSIC!
