Letter Published in the Buff News

Here is a letter to the Buffalo News that was published on 3/16. Amazingly, the geniuses that work at the news thought that this was a pro-democrat letter and titled it "A cooperative ticket may have worked best". Are they for real?

A recent letter to this space (3/2/2008) claims that the country is neither color-blind nor gender-blind in this election season simply because Hillary Clinton is not the leader in the Democratic polls. I completely agree. After all, the majority of women support women and therefore support Senator Clinton, and an overwhelming percent of black Americans support Obama. Surely these prospective voters prefer their candidates because of their qualifications, and not because of their race or gender. Are all women expected to vote for Senator Clinton as if they were sheep? Is this progress in gender and race relations?

I would think that putting both a black man and a woman on the same ticket would be progress, especially when you consider that Obama has beaten Clinton in many states in middle America. One of them is going to lose - does that give the other race or gender the right to cry foul? Maybe many others like myself are sad that these are the three best candidates that we could come up with. Surely there are others more qualified.
