So much going on this week....
- The seasons change. The snow slowly melts away and we can see the grass. Spring showers bring may flower. Summer nights grow colder. Repeat.
And then there is the annual reminder of how much I suck. Tonight is the night that I have been looking forward to for... well, 8 months.
Idol starts anew.
That's right - I watch Idol and I never miss an episode. That's right - I'm a loser. The whole world knows it now.
(if it makes it any better, I generally dislike the first few episodes as seeing people sing poorly is not entertaining to me. )
- Speaking of mediocrity, Mark McGwire came clean about using steroids several years ago when he hit a zillion home runs. Well, he kind of did. He can't remember what he did and where he did them or who he got them from. But he knows that he did them only when he was hurt! Except when he got hurt while using them when he wasn't previously hurt. Uh huh. And he said he didn't use them because they helped - I'm sure that was just a fortunate byproduct.
My bigger problem with scumbags like this is that they only come clean (kind of) when there is something to gain. McGwire had been a hermit since he retired and never would address the questions about his sudden gain of 50 lbs. Last November he took a job as the Cardinals hitting coach and he couldn't be a hermit anymore so he finally chose to address the question in his own half-assed way.
- And finally, Proposition 8 is going to trial in California. In case you missed it, the courts are debating whether or not the law banning gay marriage is constitutional. It saddens me that as a society we couldn't figure this out on our own and we need the courts to tell us that people are equal and deserve the same rights.
