All is well but we had a bit of a scare on Saturday night.
Rebecca was sick for several days and had been laying low for much of Saturday. Normally the baby is kicking all around (he better not be a soccer player) but for some reason he had been quiet all day. We started to get concerned so she put in a call to the doctor. We were told to come in to get everything checked out. It turns out that when you make these kinds of calls that they run a whole battery of tests on the mother. We were fine with that, of course. It just kind of sucked to have to spend a Saturday night in the hospital.
I've often marvelled at the success of George Lucas. While he produced some of the greatest movies ever made he has also created some of the biggest stinkers ever made.
I came across
this
article the other day. George Lucas says that
The Empire Strikes Back
was the best movie in the entire Star Wars series. Just take a step back and think about that for a minute. Now I'm a firm believer that the further that we get away from the series the more that we see that these movies weren't quite the epics that they are made out to be. But the
Empire
is an unbelievable movie, hands down.
Why does Lucas think that it was the worst? Probably because it was the only one that he didn't either write or direct. I remember hearing long ago that Lucas wanted to make his movies for kids and that he didn't like that this film was too "grown up". Go figure.
I thought this was a fake until I heard an interview with this guy on Opie and Anthony. He seems like a nice enough guy, but.... yikes. That said, I'd vote for him over Palin.
This video is GENIUS. It parodies a few different things - our self-importance when it comes to disasters (one of my favorite blogs on this
here
), the Mosque in Manhattan debate and the hunt for bin Laden.
Penn and Teller exposing the dangers of cheerleading. Science and nekked chicks all in one place. Life just works out sometimes.
(there is no nudity in the youtube version of their show)
